It became a part of Bratislava in 1972. One of the most important prehistoric sites in Slovakia can be found there. Archeological findings give evidence about the Paleolith, Neolith, Iron Era, Roman Period, the Great Moravian Era. The village itself was founded in the 14th century and belonged to the Devín castle. In the 16th century it was colonised by Croatians.
